All Seafarer Index reference datasets are available as JSON under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). Free for any use, including commercial, with attribution. The dumps are static, regenerated daily, and CORS-open so you can fetch them from a browser.

Some upstream sources have their own licensing — see the sources pagefor attribution. For example, port coordinates and UN/LOCODEs originate from public UNECE data; flag-state Paris/Tokyo MoU ratings from those organisations' public lists.
Each dataset's schema is documented inline in lib/schemas.ts using Zod. Field names are stable; new fields may be added (always documented in /changelog) but existing fields are not renamed without notice.
