BIMCO general voyage charter party — the dominant standard form for dry-cargo voyage employment, current revisions GENCON 1994 and GENCON 2022. The form covers vessel description, named load and discharge ports, freight payment, laytime, demurrage and despatch, the cargo description, and standard exceptions including the strikes, war, and ice clauses. Many trades use GENCON as a base with a recap of negotiated changes; the 2022 revision tightens cyber-risk wording, sanctions clauses, and BIMCO's own standard arbitration choice between London, Singapore, and New York.
