Mandatory STCW Reg. V/2 training for all crew on ro-ro passenger and other passenger ships. Required modules cover crowd management, crisis management and human behaviour, and passenger safety. Senior officers also take crisis-management and human-behaviour training appropriate to their role. The training is reinforced by the ship-specific drills required under SOLAS Ch. III. The 2015 amendments tightened the training requirements following the Costa Concordia investigation, and PSC inspectors verify training records during passenger-ship inspections.
