The codes are aligned across the Paris MoU (THETIS), Tokyo MoU (APCIS), and other MoUs, enabling cross-region statistical analysis and trend reporting. Each code maps to an IMO instrument and regulation — for example 01101 for cargo-securing manual not approved, 04108 for a defective EPIRB.
