Suezmax is a crude-oil tanker of roughly 120,000 to 200,000 deadweight tonnes, sized to be the largest laden tanker able to transit the Suez Canal. The limiting factor is the canal's draft: after the 2010 deepening a Suezmax can pass fully loaded at about 20.1 metres draft, carrying around one million barrels of crude. The class is the mainstay of West Africa–to–Europe, Black Sea/Mediterranean and transatlantic crude trades, bridging the gap between the medium-haul Aframax and the long-haul VLCC.
