IMO Model Courses
The International Maritime Organization publishes Model Courses as the canonical training syllabuses for STCW competencies. Each Model Course is a full training package: learning objectives, teaching syllabus, instructor manual, evaluation criteria, and — for practical modules — equipment requirements. Flag-state administrations, IACS-recognised classification societies, and STCW admins reference these publication codes (IAxxxE) when approving a training centre's course delivery.
This directory lists the 50 Model Courses seafarerindex.com tracks. The full IMO catalogue is ~80 courses — the remaining are highly specialised (specific ship-handling simulators, marine environmental awareness, port-operations training). Purchase from the IMO Publications catalogue.
