Laytime is the period allowed for loading or discharging cargo under a charterparty. Once that period expires, demurrage accrues at a daily rate until the vessel is released. If the vessel is released before laytime expires, despatch may be earned (typically at half the demurrage rate).
This tool provides a live ticking clock from the moment NOR is accepted, showing laytime consumed, remaining time, and accrued demurrage in USD. SHEX/WWD Sunday exclusion is approximate — for precise calculations consult the charterparty and a commercial laytime calculator.
