STCW VIII/1 + MLC A2.3.5 set the minimum rest hours for every seafarer worldwide: at least 10 hours in any 24-hour period + at least 77 hours in any 7-day period. Rest can be split into no more than two periods per 24-hour window, of which one must be at least 6 hours long. Consecutive breaks between rest periods must not exceed 14 hours. This calculator validates a 7-day pattern against these rules + flags every breach. Data stays in your browser only.
Click cells to toggle work (blue) / rest (green). The grid represents 7 days × 24 hours. Compliance recomputes on every change.
