Pumpman
Pumpman — specialist deck rating on tankers (oil, chemical, product), responsible for the cargo pumping system, COW, tank cleaning, and inert-gas system. Reports to Chief Officer for cargo operations.
- Route
- AB Deck (STCW II/5) plus Basic Tanker (STCW V/1-1-1) and Advanced Oil/Chemical (V/1-1-2 or V/1-1-3) endorsements; significant tanker sea-time required.
- Watches
- On cargo ops: with the Chief Officer / cargo team. At sea: typically day-work or Bosun/AB rotation depending on ship.

- AB Deck → Pumpman (tanker) → Bosun
