The Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller is the lead ship of the Triple-E class, an 18,270 TEU container ship delivered by Daewoo Shipbuilding (now Hanwha Ocean) in 2013 and operated on Maersk Line's Asia-Europe AE-10 service. At delivery she was the world's largest container ship and set the energy-efficient ULCV design template — the 'Triple-E' name standing for Economy of scale, Energy efficient, Environmentally improved. Named after Maersk's long-serving chairman.
Triple-E crews experience a notably refined working environment compared with earlier ULCVs: improved accommodation block, more spacious common areas, deliberately humane crew-quarters design. The class is the high-water mark of Maersk's pre-decarbonisation-pivot fleet — well-maintained, well-equipped, and high-prestige. The Mc-Kinney Møller name carries weight inside the Maersk community.
