Contracts 4-6 months with high pay tier (Danish-level on the Danish-flag fleet, Singapore-level on the Singapore-flag and open-registry fleet). Career progression is well-defined and predictable: junior officers move through the fleet on a planned rotation. Manning is heavily Danish + Northern European + Indian + Filipino, with strong cadet pipelines from each country.

Maersk's recent restructuring split the operating businesses (Maersk Line + Maersk Logistics) more sharply; cadet sponsorships are tied to specific business units. The Maersk Crewing entity in Mumbai is the legitimate manning agent for Indian-flag and India-recruited crew — verify any approach through the official channel and never pay an upfront fee. The fleet has aggressive decarbonisation targets so dual-fuel methanol experience is increasingly relevant for engineers.
