Yang Ming Marine Transport is Taiwan's second-largest shipping company, founded in 1972 and majority-owned by the Taiwanese government. Headquartered in Keelung. Yang Ming operates around 90 vessels and is a member of THE Alliance (with Hapag-Lloyd, ONE, and HMM).

Government ownership means more conservative HR practices than at private peers. Career progression is slower because the fleet is not growing aggressively. Verify the manning agent through the official Yang Ming channel; avoid agents claiming a Yang Ming connection without independent confirmation.
