Overview
Halong Shipbuilding Company is a large shipyard on Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh province, northern Vietnam, historically part of the state Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (SBIC, formerly Vinashin). It builds bulk carriers, general-cargo ships, ro-ro and vehicle carriers, offshore-support vessels, and tugs, and undertakes repair and conversion work. It was one of the flagship yards of Vietnam's ambitious 2000s shipbuilding expansion and its subsequent restructuring under SBIC.
