CoC (Certificate of Competency)
(CoC)
The STCW certificate proving a seafarer meets the training + experience standard for a specific rank + capacity.
CoP (Certificate of Proficiency)
(CoP)
A STCW certificate covering a specific function (BST, AFF, MFA) rather than a rank — held by both officers + ratings.
DMLC (Declaration of Maritime Labour Compliance)
(DMLC)
The flag-state document evidencing an individual ship's MLC 2006 compliance — Part I (flag-state prescribed measures) + Part II (shipowner-implemented measures).
DOC (Document of Compliance)
(DOC)
The ISM Code certificate issued to the company evidencing that the shore-side safety-management system meets the Code.
International Load Line Certificate
The statutory certificate showing the maximum permissible draft (load line) marks on the hull — required under the 1966 Load Lines Convention.
Safety Construction Certificate
The SOLAS certificate evidencing the ship's structural + machinery + electrical compliance — issued after class + flag survey.
SMC (Safety Management Certificate)
