Liquids with flash point ≤ 60 °C; classified by packing group I/II/III based on flash point and boiling point.
Regulatory detail & full definition
IMDG Class 3 — flammable liquids with a flash point at or below 60 °C (in some applications 65 °C). The class is subdivided by packing group: I (very dangerous, FP < 23 °C and BP ≤ 35 °C), II (medium danger), and III (lower danger, FP between 23 and 60 °C). Examples include petrol, ethanol, diesel additives, and many solvents. Stowage requires segregation from heat sources, clear fire-detection coverage, and 'separated from' Class 5 oxidisers; bulk flammable liquids fall under the IBC Code instead of IMDG.
