International Code on Intact Stability (the IS Code), the IMO mandatory code for intact stability of all ships of 24 m and above. The 2008 IS Code (MSC.267(85)) applies to vessels covered by the SOLAS Convention and to most other commercial ships through national legislation. Part A is mandatory and covers general stability criteria, weather criterion, and severe wind and rolling; Part B is recommended and covers specific ship types including container ships, dredgers, and offshore supply vessels.
