Completed before every PTW-issued job. Crew identifies hazards, controls, and PPE; chief officer reviews and signs. Refresher JSA is run if conditions change mid-job (weather, sea state, power loss).

Required by company SMS for any non-routine job. Conducted in a tool-box meeting with all participants present. Output is filed; serves as a record for incident investigation if something goes wrong. Distinct from a permit-to-work — JSA focuses on hazard analysis; PTW authorises the work.
