Generic class of vessels supporting offshore O&G, wind-farm, and subsea operations. The category groups platform supply vessels (PSVs), anchor-handling tug-supply (AHTS) vessels, multi-purpose support vessels (MPSVs), diving support vessels (DSVs), ROV support vessels, well intervention vessels, and various crew transfer / accommodation hybrids. IMO Resolution A.863(20) sets safety standards for OSV design and operation; further industry standards from IMCA and OCIMF govern crew competence and operational discipline.
