A Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) is an offshore supply ship dedicated to ferrying deck cargo and bulk products - drilling mud, brine, drill and potable water, fuel and methanol - between a shore base and offshore installations, along with some personnel. Typically 60-90 m long and 4,000-5,000 DWT, it is built to DP-2 standard for holding position alongside a platform, and its tanks are arranged to keep the various bulk products segregated. Unlike an AHTS it carries no anchor-handling gear; major operators include Tidewater, Bourbon, DOF and Solstad.
