Tanker Management & Self Assessment — OCIMF programme requiring tanker operators to self-assess their safety management against thirteen elements covering management commitment, recruitment and management of shore staff and seafarers, vessel reliability and maintenance, navigational safety, cargo handling, emergency preparedness, and others. Each element has four key performance indicators ranked Stage 1 to Stage 4. TMSA 3 (2017) is the current edition. Operators submit annual self-assessment reports to the SIRE 2.0 system, and the results feed vetting decisions by OCIMF member oil majors.
