The Croatian Seafarers' Union (Sindikat Pomoraca Hrvatske, SPH) is the primary trade-union representative of Croatian seafarers. Founded 1990 following Croatian independence from Yugoslavia, SPH represents ~11,000 Croatian seafarers on Croatian-flag + foreign-flag tonnage. Croatia supplies a significant proportion of Mediterranean tanker + product-tanker + coastal-shipping officer crew, and Croatian officers are well-regarded for tanker + chemical-tanker specialisations. The union coordinates with the Croatian Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure + is an active ITF affiliate participating in IBF Framework negotiations.
