Seafarer tips
Do: try genuine Valencian paella — it's the regional dish + significantly different from tourist paella elsewhere in Spain. Don't: swim near the port during summer — jellyfish are common. Watch for: the Fallas festival in mid-March means fireworks + celebration crowds; plan shore leave carefully during that week.
