Do: use Ola and Uber (both work in Mumbai); use the local trains for cross-Mumbai travel (fast, cheap, intense). Don't: hand cash to anyone claiming to be a maritime recruitment intermediary — this is the principal scam pattern. Watch for: monsoon season (Jun-Sep) — flooding affects port-area transit. The DG Shipping office is in Mumbai; if you're an Indian seafarer with a CoC issue, this is the principal office.
