Laem Chabang, on Thailand's eastern seaboard, is Thailand's principal container port and one of South-East Asia's busiest. Laem Chabang port is 30-40 minutes from Pattaya and 90-120 minutes from Bangkok by agent van. The town of Laem Chabang itself is small; most crew head to Pattaya or Sri Racha for amenities.

Do: use Grab; carry your seaman's book + ship's stamp at all times. Don't: criticise the Thai monarchy (legal consequences are real). Watch for: Thai immigration shore-pass enforcement is strict — log every departure and return. Pattaya is the principal crew-leisure destination from Laem Chabang; exercise judgement about nightlife districts.
