Do: use the EasyCard for MRT and buses; download the Kaohsiung tourism app. Don't: stay in the port area after dark unaccompanied — better lighting and amenities in the city centre. Watch for: Taiwan-China tensions occasionally affect crew-change logistics for vessels with Chinese-flag history. Confirm vessel flag and crew-change timing with the agent.
