Deck officer trained to operate a vessel's Dynamic Positioning system. Standard on offshore supply, drilling, construction, and some cruise vessels.

What they do

Operates the DP console during station-keeping operations close to platforms, vessels, or seabed assets. Monitors the DP system status, environmental forces, and the field-arrival procedures. Reports to the Master / OIM.
