Red flags

• Cannot answer the licence-number question in one message.
• Cannot name the vessel and principal shipowner before any commitment.
• Asks for money for any purpose.

How to verify

• Confirm the manning agency's licence number with the national regulator.
• Confirm the principal shipowner on /companies and on their official site.
• Confirm the vessel by IMO on /ships and on the flag-state register.
• Read the SEA + CBA reference before flying.
• Confirm financial security (MLC A2.5.2 + A4.2.1) — ask for the certificate.
• Compare the wage against /salaries and the ITF/IBF tables.
• Cross-check the PEME provider, the visa process, and the travel letter.
• Run /tools/manning-agency-scam-checker and /tools/contract-red-flag-checker.
• Save copies of every document, message, and payment.
• Brief a family member or trusted shoreside contact on the offer before flying.
