Utopia of the Seas is a 2024-built Oasis-class cruise ship (236,857 GT, 5,668 passenger capacity), the sixth and final vessel in the Oasis class. Built by Chantiers de l'Atlantique for Royal Caribbean International; entered service 19 July 2024 out of Port Canaveral, Florida. The first Oasis-class ship built with LNG dual-fuel propulsion, cutting SOx emissions ~99% versus HFO. Her short 3-4 night Bahamas itineraries mark Royal Caribbean's pivot from 7-day mass-market voyages toward premium short-haul.
Utopia is the first Royal Caribbean flagship crew learn on with LNG bunker procedures baked into onboarding. Deck officers rotating from HFO Oasis siblings need cryo-fuel training. The 3-4 night itinerary means faster passenger cycles and shorter provisioning windows — hotel-department drills are tighter than any pre-2020 posting.
