Overview
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders in Mumbai is India's principal warship-building yard. Founded in 1934 and incorporated as MDL in 1960, the yard builds destroyers (Visakhapatnam-class), frigates (Nilgiri-class), submarines (Kalvari-class Scorpene), and a steady stream of high-end commercial tankers for the Shipping Corporation of India.
