Overview
Croatian Register of Shipping is one of the youngest IACS societies, headquartered in Split. It classes around 350 vessels totalling 2.5 million GT — yachts, ferries, fishing vessels, coastal cargo, and a small offshore book — and is the recognised organisation for the Croatian flag. CRS joined IACS as an associate in 2011 and became a full member in 2016. It is most active in the Adriatic and the wider Mediterranean.

Why it matters to seafarers
CRS surveyors are concentrated in Croatian and Italian Adriatic ports; Croatian-flag merchant ships and many Croatian-built ferries carry CRS class. The fleet is small, but the society is well-regarded within IACS and has a strong yacht-classing niche relevant to seafarers in the super-yacht trade.
