Overview
Polish Register of Shipping was founded in 1936 in Gdynia, on Poland's Baltic coast, and is one of the smaller IACS-member societies. PRS classes around 700 vessels totalling roughly 4 million GT, focused on the Baltic fleet, river-and-coastal tonnage, and an offshore-wind farm support niche. PRS is the recognised organisation for the Polish flag and is active in Baltic-MoU PSC matters.

Why it matters to seafarers
PRS is the default classer for Polish coastal and river tonnage and many offshore-wind crew-transfer vessels in the North Sea and Baltic. Surveyors are concentrated in Gdynia and Gdansk; deep-sea visits are arranged via correspondent surveyors when needed.
