Summary

Fishing vessels operating off the Cross River / Bakassi peninsula area (Nigeria-Cameroon border) continue to be attacked at low intensity in 2025. The Nigerian Navy Operation Delta Sanity + Deep Blue Project have significantly reduced attack tempo since 2020-21 but the residual threat centres on fishing boats, coastal barges, and offshore-supply tenders in the swampy Niger Delta approaches.
