Overview
Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company (DSIC) is the historic yard of CSSC — China State Shipbuilding Corporation — with operating history dating to 1898. DSIC is China's principal VLCC builder, a major container-ship yard, and the primary builder of PLA Navy surface combatants including China's first indigenous aircraft carrier, Shandong. The commercial book runs to VLCC, VLOC, offshore units (FPSO conversions), and increasingly LNG-dual-fuel tonnage.

Why it matters to seafarers

The yard's cargo-piping and IGS arrangements follow CCS-class conventions, and the machinery-space arrangement is recognisably distinct from Korean or Japanese VLCC sisters despite comparable dimensions.
