Overview
Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, a CSSC subsidiary in Shanghai's Huangpu and Changxing Island, is the largest Chinese LNG-carrier builder and the principal source of LNG tonnage for the Chinese-domestic gas-import fleet (CNPC, Sinopec, CNOOC). Also builds ULCVs and pure-car/truck carriers.

Why it matters to seafarers
LNG engineers and cargo engineers joining Chinese-flagged LNG carriers will see Hudong-Zhonghua repeatedly. The yard licenses the GTT NO.96 membrane system but has also developed its own Cryostar / CSSC variants.
