Notice of Readiness generator

A Notice of Readiness (NOR) is the Master's formal declaration that the vessel has arrived and is ready in all respects to load or discharge cargo. Once accepted (or deemed accepted), laytime starts running. The NOR triggers demurrage if the vessel is detained beyond agreed laytime.

  • NOR is governed by the charter party — its form, timing, and tender method must follow the C/P clauses.
  • WIBON / WIPON / WIFPON / WCCON clauses determine whether NOR can be tendered before berthing.
  • Acceptance vs "deemed accepted" — many C/Ps deem acceptance after a fixed time has lapsed.
