MLC 2006 financial-security providers
The Maritime Labour Convention 2006 amendments that entered force in January 2017 require every ship's DMLC Part II to name an insurer or bank guarantor covering: (a) up to four months' unpaid contractual wages when abandonment is declared, and (b) repatriation costs when the shipowner cannot or will not pay. This directory names the 15 major providers so you can contact them directly if the DMLC certificate on board is missing, unreadable, or the owner-managed contact route has gone dead.
When a seafarer is abandoned or repatriation is refused, the DMLC Part II on board names the financial-security provider. This directory is the fallback when the certificate is missing, illegible, or the DMLC contact is unresponsive.
