Summary
The Panama-flagged Aframax crude tanker Andromeda Star was struck by three Houthi anti-ship missiles in the southern Red Sea while carrying Russian-origin crude. Damage was contained and the vessel continued to safe waters. The incident highlighted the pattern of Houthi targeting including vessels carrying Russian-origin oil despite the movement's political alignment with Iran and Russia — apparent evidence of AIS-based targeting rather than cargo-provenance-based targeting.
